Barefoot Shoes Lifestyle Questions (FAQs)

They are annoying for starters:)
It's not as easy as ABC, however, we can boil kids’ foot problems down to 3 major categories: problems affecting the toes; lack of movement, and bad footwear.
Unfortunately, we have been brainwashed in such a way that the feet, especially those of kids, need to be covered and restricted. However, this is leading to a myriad of problems - especially with foot natural movement.
All problems are correlated - and professional advice should always be sought.

Yes, the freedom that barefoot shoes give to children (as well as adults) lets the muscles and other foot structures work to their full potential WITHOUT RESTRICTION. Kids’ feet come out of the ‘oven’ ready to take on the wild, however, in the concrete jungle we live in, all the attributes that feet can do are lost in due course. Keep in mind that a weak base will always affect the upper structures.

MOVE! Performing simple exercises like moving our toes to more complicated balance exercises. Wear more minimalistic and wide shoes to help with foot splay and remove all restrictions of conventional footwear. Look at your feet and check them out regularly. Take care of them by applying emollients when possible. Explore different surfaces - run around barefoot in sand or turf. Do yoga barefoot (add toe spacers for that extra oomph), get your self-standing desk to activate your legs, and do some squats before you head to work. The list is endless – but the most important is movement.
